Do you enjoy creating? Whether you like painting, writing, knitting or any other art or craft, there are options for you to work on your own project, and chat to other locals. Here is a quick summary of groups and activities.

Art In Dereel

Art In Dereel is a group of local artists which initially formed from artists participating in the Golden Plains Arts Trail. Over the years it has expanded to include any local person interested in creativity.

Next Art In Dereel Get Together:

Saturday 6th August, 10am to 2pm
Dereel Community Centre,
14 Swamp Road, Dereel

Art In Dereel meets on the first Saturday of the month between 10am and 2pm in the Dereel Community Centre. This is a casual session where you bring your own work with you, including all of the materials. If you don’t have a project, come along anyway. We have a limited supply of materials to get you started. We do as much chatting as we do art, and we welcome new members.

In 2018 Art In Dereel received a grant to run workshops, which were held in 2019. They want to hear ideas from local creative people about potential future art events.

Contact Glynis Bryden on 0438 150 256 or email artindereel@gmail.com for more information or just come and chat to us on Saturday. You might also like to join the Art In Dereel Facebook Group for people who live in Dereel and surrounding communities.
