Sadly, Bennita passed away in Gandarra on Wednesday, 20th November.
Many of us remember with love Bennita and the work she did in our community, as a nurse with Ballarat District Nursing Service.  She became a friend to many of us, and was always there to help and listen to us.

After retiring, Bennita’s health declined and last year she underwent a lung transplant at the Alfred Hospital.  She was progressing well, but unfortunately other health issues occurred from which she didn’t recover.

Bennita’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, 27th November, at Christ Church Cathedral, 49 Lydiard St. South, Ballarat, at 11am.

The Dereel Community would like to make a donation to the transplant section at The Alfred Hospital in memory of Bennita.  If you would like to contribute to this, you may leave an envelope with your donation at the Hall with Lucy, or hand it to Lisa Hunter or Lorraine Ellis.  We will forward it to the hospital during the week beginning 2nd December.

Thank you Bennita for all the things you did for the Community while at Dereel.
