In lieu of Spring Festival, the Dereel Community Hub Inc. General Meeting voted to hold four seasonal Community Day events each year. The Community Days will run over a few hours, including a lunch. Each seasonal event will focus on a different aspect of life in Dereel, with an opportunity for all local groups to be involved and showcase what they do.
SEED Funding and Community Grants
Following the successful application for the Community Planning SEED funding and a second grant for community development, the focus for the first Community Day will be on the Dereel Community Spaces. The Golden Plains Shire has now transferred the Community Planning SEED funding of $7500.00 to the Dereel community. The second grant of $2905.00 has been awarded to Dereel for Community Spaces by the Golden Plains Shire following an application from DCHI with the assistance of BDNH. Thank you to Lucy Osmond for helping with the research and the application for this grant.
Keep This Date Free
Saturday 23rd September is the date of the first Dereel Community Day. We hope it will provide local people with an opportunity to think about the way we use our Community Centre, the Hall, and the public spaces surrounding them. How can we develop these spaces to make better use of them?
More details will be published over the next month on Dereel Spokes website and in the September edition of Dereel Spokes.
