This Weekend: 11am to 1pm, Saturday 25 February, Dereel Community Garden

The Dereel Community Gardening Group met on Saturday 18th February, the first time since the working bee in November. Over the festive season, some of the weeds had grown back. A decision was taken to have a ‘tidy up’ working bee to keep the garden in order. As Dereel is hosting some of the Real Food Festival events in March, the working bee was set for this Saturday.
Free sausages from the BBQ are on offer for those who volunteer to help out.
Establishing Regular Meetings
From now on, there will be regular gardening meetings and garden maintenance on the third Saturday of the month. Major community working bees will be held quarterly.
Community Planning Project
The meeting also decided on three specific gardening projects to be commenced under the Community Planning grant process: Landscape Design, Food Gardens and Ornamental Gardens. For more information, please come along on Saturday or join the Dereel Community Garden Facebook Group.
