It was great to see some new faces at breakfast on Cup Day – there was even a visitor from interstate. It was a fun morning and thanks to the couple of girls who came wearing Melbourne Cup hats – they looked very glamorous ! The Sweep was a bit of fun with Julie D being the big winner.
Breakfast in December will be on Tuesday 6th December at 8am. We hope you can come and enjoy some breakfast with us, maybe a walk afterwards and catch up with some locals for a chat. It would be great to see the new faces again and anyone else that hasn’t been previously will be very welcome. Cost is a gold coin donation. (There will be no breakfast in January, but breakfast resumes on the first Tuesday in February.)
On the 8th December, The Trailblazers Walk, which is run by the Golden Plains Shire, will leave our hall at 10am. Jacinta will lead a walk around the Dereel area. There is a bus that follows the walkers if you don’t wish to walk the full distance. As this will be the final walk before Christmas, Jacinta has organised a light lunch to follow – at the Dereel Hall. We request a gold coin donation to cover costs. Again, this is a good chance to get out and relax in good company.
December 13th is the Christmas breakup for the Walking Group. We are meeting at The Enfield Pub for Christmas lunch at 11.30 ,to eat at approximately 12. There is a set menu – nibbles, Christmas main meal and dessert, tea and coffee. It is essential to let Lorraine know if you are coming ( 53420492 ), by 9th December so we can let the pub know numbers for catering. The cost is $28 a head, pay for own drinks. Those of you who have eaten at the pub before, know how good the meals are there, so come and support a local business, and get into the Christmas spirit. Again, anyone in the community is welcome
Look forward to seeing lots of you joining the Waking Group for these activities to wind up the year.
