The Golden Plains Shire council will bring along the iVAN Youth Cruiser to the Homework Hub this Tuesday 25 October from 4-5:30 pm. Take the opportunity to catch up on some homework and have some fun also!
The Homework Hub will be open every Tuesday 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the Dereel Community Centre for the last school term of 2016. If you want help with your studies, or just want a time to focus on homework, come along to the community centre after school. The Homework Hub is run by Dereel Community Hub Inc.
Light healthy snacks will be available to students to hold the stomach grumbles at bay. Gold coin donations are invited to cover the venue hire costs.
Community members who have a good understanding of school subjects and would like to help students in their learning are encouraged to be involved. The lead tutors are Erin Gallagher and Mitchel Fielding.
Erin Gallagher was a mathematics teacher in Canberra for over ten years and has taught across primary, high school, senior secondary and university. Erin has always been passionate about teaching for understanding and has won awards for programs that emphasize this approach.
Mitchel Fielding has tertiary qualifications in engineering, management and psychology and has worked in the technology industry for over 30 years. He is motivated by supporting people in fulfilling their potential and building resilient community.
