Theatre Info/Intro Session on Saturday 15th October

Presented by Kim Stanley – Saturday 15th October, 2pm to 4pm at the Dereel Community Centre.  Cost is a gold coin donation to cover room hire.

So, how did someone with little theatre experience, zero acting skills with absolutely no ability to remember lines, and a pretty dodgy voice manage to get Captain Cat’s Theatre (a musical community play with a real band and dancing) up and running? How did it get up and running, and successfully produced in a short amount of time as part of Dereel’s Bushfire Recovery? With a great deal of help from many amazing people, lots of community spirit and enthusiasm, and being able to use humour and collaboration to help the community through something awful!

Are you interested in having a theatrical presence in Dereel?  Come along to the “Putting On A Theatre Performance” Intro/Info session on Saturday 15th October to see how we did it, and how you could do it yourself. It just started with one idea and one conversation.
