Wellbeing October Program

Lucy Osmond has advised us about the following upcoming events:

Dereel Footy Pie Lunch 

Tuesday October 4th at midday in the Dereel Hall. A great chance to get together and celebrate the end of the footy season over an old fashioned pie lunch. All welcome, a gold coin donation is asked to contribute towards the food provided. Contact: Lorraine on 5342 0492

October is Victorian Seniors Festival

Pick up a full program outlining what’s on offer in the Golden Plains Shire during the month of October from the Dereel Community Centre. Highlights include

The Healthy Aging Expo 
Wednesday October 5th from 10am to 3pm at the Mercure Hotel, Main Road, Ballarat. This is a great opportunity to explore services on offer to the Dereel community.

Tech Savvy Seniors
Online buying and selling session with Geelong Regional Library will be held on Tuesday October 18th at 9:30am in the Dereel Hall, everyone welcome. A good chance to brush up on some new skills for those already confident with using computers. (A session will be held later in the year to build on basic computer skills).

Book Exchange Book Club on Mondays from 1pm-3pm

Come by the Dereel Community Centre to exchange a book or chat about a recent good read you have had. The book exchange is also available any time the Community Centre is open.

Well Woman’s Clinic

Leigh Community Health Centre in Rokewood on Friday October 14th from 10am-12pm call 5267 1280 for appointments.

Dietician Visits

Joanna from Ballarat Community Health visits Dereel every second month, her next visit is on Tuesday 8th November at 9:30am in the Dereel Hall Kitchen. All welcome, this is a great chance to learn some more about the everyday foods we eat.

The Community Centre is open on Monday, Tuesday and alternating Wednesdays. A Service Providers Table has been set up in the Community Centre for you to identify services and supports available to you in Dereel.

The Community Groups Information Table is set up in the Dereel Hall Kitchen for information about what is going on in Dereel
